I found this over at Illseed Blog it fell under the category of 'Signs The World is Coming To An End' lol and it's okay, I'm just glad it was posted for my discovery anyway.

Dr. Norman Spack, a pediatric specialist at the hospital, has launched a clinic for transgendered kids — boys who feel like girls, girls who want to be boys — and he’s opening his doors to patients as young as 7.

Spack offers his younger patients counseling and drugs that delay the onset of puberty. The drugs stop the natural flood of hormones that would make it difficult to have a sex alteration later in life, allowing patients more time to decide whether they want to make the change.

(Wow, seven is very young in age. Yet, I've known 3 people who by age 5 displayed they just weren't gay/lesbian, but they were transgendered. All three are young adults now in the process of transitioning.)

There is one last comment I'd like to make in response to this article --

“Just because modern medicine can accomplish certain things does not mean that these procedures should be done,” said Nimocks. “That’s the mindset of a Dr. Kevorkian, and he wound up in jail.”

(No disrespect but this has to be one of the most stupid where's the relevance ? someone could make, it's up there with God made Adam an Eve not Adam & Steve.")

I'm glad this Dr. is here to help. It's not like the kids just wander in and talk about wanting to be FTM or MTF. These kids have parents who are astute to what their child is going through and working hard to meet their childs needs. Good for parents who are open enough to take their child to the DR.

well said...if folks would just stop judging and try educating themselves their opinions and thoughts on this would change, but hey they gotta degrade somebody in order to feel good about there miserable selves.

From what I understand, his work involves helping delay puberty in kids who will be traumatized by it. He's not doing anything that can't be undone should the kid change their mind later in life. It will help the child should s/he go on to have surgery--there won't be the secondary characteristics to overcome, and s/he can adapt more easily after surgery. The transsexuals I know *knew* when they were little, and their parents suspected. A good friend of mine got hormones in her teens and surgery at 21; almost ten years later, she doesn't regret a *thing*. I'm glad there are people like this doctor.

I agree, great article, seems people want to forget that we are all Human Beings First and Foremost, none of us requested that we be here.

When we allow silly beliefs and myths to identify us by using labels and titles it causes hatred and descention between us, there is absolutely no reason we cannot live peacefully together.

Religions and false beliefs are the biggest detriment to peace on this planet.
