Will She Be France's First Woman President

Meet 53 year old Segolene Royal, who is in a race of her lifetime. She is currently vying to become the first woman president of France. On November 16, 2006 Socialist party members elected her as their candidate for the 2007 French presidential election.

First let me provide you with this interesting background on Segolene Royal. For it clearly says that she is in France because it would have never happened, unfortunately if she was here in the United States.

She's a self professed feminist who as a junior minister provided the morning after pill to teenage girls. From the years of 1992 to 2002 Royal was a Vice Minister of Environment, Vice Minister of Family and Children and Handicap Persons, as well as Minister of Education. Royal has 4 children, but as a personal choice chose not to marry the children's father.

Royal comes from a large family. She has two sisters and five brothers. Jacque Royal, her father was an artillery officer and aide to the mayor of Champayne. His belief was that girls were meant for obedience and breeding. Therefore, he often told his daughters they would never amount to anything.

The polls are showing that she has the voter's trust. A few changes to be made once Royal takes office is raising the minimum wage and bringing over 500,000 subsidized jobs for their youth. Royal supports anti-gay bullying in schools. “School must be a place of tolerance, of welcome."

Nicolas Sarkozy, a conservative who's tough on crime and also a presidential hopeful can feel Royal stepping on the back of his heels. Right now this is any body's race.

One of Royal's favorite phrases is: "I am a free woman."

Women Can Produce Their Own Sperm

This was the greatest story I have read in a long time and I found it by way of Feministing the title No dick necessary.

In the near future, women may be able to start producing their own sperm, but let's not start jumping all the way up and down. If this does happen we will only be able to have girls. Wow... a Feministing Nation!

This may seem that it goes absolutely against nature, but remember when the idea of test tube babies was introduced? I think this is wonderful. Especially for lesbian couples who want children. And, for the single woman that so badly wants children.

Food for thought, I wonder if this would cut down on the mothers standing in the welfare lines. Why? Because fathers and daddy's have ran out. Mama's Baby and Daddy's Maybe.

Here's where it stands right now,

Scientists are seeking ethical permission to produce synthetic sperm cells from a woman's bone marrow tissue after showing that it's possible to produce rudimentary sperm cells...

Feminist Fun Fair Celebrates Young Women and Men

This was a very different day with celebration. An education for those in attendance and a day in all likelihood that will always be remembered. I mean how often do you sit down and draw a picture of your vagina?

But, of course that wasn't all this event was about. The fair was held in order to show that feminist aren't chew them up, spit them out, Men Hating women. An opportunity for these kinds of stereotypes to hopefully be broken.

This was the objective of Tiffany Duening, a member of the Women's Coalition, which sponsored the event. The second annual Feminist Fun Fair was held on Hayden Lawn, Monday.

The students were also given free condoms and lubricants. Anyone that wanted to could challenge a feminist in arm wrestling. Different booths were set up on the lawn. Even one which displayed a vibrator.

The young women drew interpretations of what their vagina's looked like. Bright colors were used to portray them. There was happy and sad images of their vagina's. Most were done in abstract only a few were really graphic. The pictures were sold and donations were given.

All in all it appeared to be a great turnout. Especially since sophomore Matt Jacobs stated, "I like the face of feminism that doesn't clash with the idea of equality. There is always a degrading tone towards men in the stereotype of feminism and that wasn't here at all."

The Amazon Women

There once was a population of females called,
The Amazon Women.

They were a tribal community of women which possessed strength independence wis-dom and had the ability to run their land free from male dominance power and control.

The Amazon Women were their own hunters and gatherers. They toiled their land while they governed and ruled. These phenomenal females’ tool of choice was called the battle axe. The battle axe denoted great strength, Womyn strength and in more ways than one.

This tool is very old. Some may know it as 'The Labrys.' The Labrys was used by ancient women and had a connection and symbolism to lesbianism, that dated back thousands of centuries. The Labrys is basically a doubled bladed axe or hatchet which was used for harvesting as well as for a defense weapon.

The first Labrys was created over 8,000 years, ago. The tribe of Amazon Women roamed Cazakstan in Central Asia, which is now known as Turkey. The town of Catalhuyuk is where they worshipped the Earth Goddess. They prospered lived without conflict and in peace for 1,500 years. Can you imagine this? I can imagine peace every minute of everyday in my life. Now do I actually think it will happen? Well that’s a horse of a different color.

When I was a much younger woman I'd relax my mind by reveling in my daydreams and fantasies. My vision was of being the first African American Woman President. I would envision a House of Representatives of diversity all creeds and many color. From the whitest of ivory to the darkest of ebony to the golden and the bronzed.

My Cabinet consisted of short tall big small voluptuousness and petiteness size 2's to size 22's. I could picture my Senate. It was comprised of women with the most rawest forms of creativity and talent. When it came to selecting my assembly based on the level of education please 'the non-degree, I employ you to apply!'

Let’s keep it real...

There is a multitude of prestigious education currently in the White House. They are widely known by their accolades and honored for academic achievements an awards. Harvard Yale MIT ranging from the very impressive ivy league institutions. Yet what has it proved? First that some have the ability to ace an exam better than others. Second if you breed from within the highest of socio economic income then you can only birth the highest of IQ’s, a wealth of intelligence.

'Poppycock!'

What type of intelligence does one actually possess when they're incapable of knowing that you can not continue to bomb someone’s land without eventually causing a retaliation a series of repercussions? How intelligent would one be operating from a belief system that saids we can rob a peoples’ country of their gold diamonds oil and etc. The very products which are essential to their capital and growth. This is a raping of these countries homelands.

These so-called educated people purely believe it's been a fair exchange. But it’s been a death and destruction by far an equal or fair distribution. Too much of their blood left lying in the street.

Well maybe one day We Womyn will ban together and pick the battle axe up once again. Remember it doesn’t matter what stature you are. 'It’s not the size of the dog in the fire…it’s the size of the fire in the dog.'

Changing The Face of Dubai Women

The Dubai Women have been coined as the Mecca stars. I found this as I scanned the fashion layout in Marie Claire Magazine. Their beauty I must admit was absolutely breath taking. And, let's face it we all enjoy looking at beautiful things.

Yet, the face of Dubai Women is changing rapidly. The roles they're playing and the hats which they
are wearing in the workplace.

I really don't want to use the word modernization, even though it may seem befitting. The usage of this word suggests that something is or something was outdated, no longer usable. And, many societies of different cultures have made stupendous changes to become what they feel would be more modernized. More modernized to our American way of being. Because, I personally could be satisfied having a horse drawn buggy pull up in front of my door.

However, the women of Dubai have changed many traditions.

Fatma Mohamed Haj (seen in the top left photo) is a Radiologist. Years ago, this would have been impossible for this young woman age 21 to achieve. Merely because the Islamic tradition/law foreboded women to touch men in the realms such as this. Fatma, along with others could not put their hands on men they didn't know. Amazing isn't it? Seeing as they were wedded off to men they barely knew. And, of course on the matrimonial night of lovemaking I'm sure this tradition and law was not expected to be in effect.

Just as anything else, satellite television has aided in changing the shape and views of their culture and beliefs. Programs like Kalam Nawaem , which is on the format of Barbara Walters' The View, where a panel of four women sit on the sofa attacking a vast I want to know topical of discussion. They take on issues of concerns such as homosexuality & incest, to name only a few.

Middle Eastern Women, are using their college educations for the empowerment of self and to provide their families the 'all American dream.' And, I use those 3 words very lightly. Because, that is not just an all American dream. It's a dream to be able to provide for your children your family and to live abundantly, all over this world. Everyone of us desires the dream to reach our full potential.

Now even though by comparison to their male counterparts the percentages of women in the workplace is exceedingly low. But, they are breaking new ground in the type of employment and jobs which they're attaining. These young women are establishing professionals with upcoming and solid careers at best. The doors of opportunity have opened up.

Fatima Al-Attar (seen in right photo), age 26 is the CEO of her own company, Interior Dot Com.
If tradition/law was still set in place this wife, since age 20 not only couldn't be an entrepreneur but staying out as late as 3:00 am doing business would certainly have been forbidden.

Fatima designs commercial properties. She undertakes projects and designs for Dubai retail chains an outlets, office buildings, apartments and hotels. Fatima is fortunate enough to have a husband who is supportive.

Yes, these women can bring home the bacon and fry it up in a pan. While they are embracing the telephone is ringing, the baby is crying, the dog is barking and somebody is at the door because they can hear the ring of their ching a ching ching. The feeling of knowing they can be empowered, too!
