Women In America Have Hit Pay Dirt

WASHINGTON -- Some of America's lowest-paid workers will get a pay raise this summer. Congress on Thursday approved the first increase in the federal minimum wage in almost a decade. Workers who now make $5.15 an hour will get a $2.10 raise. But it won't come all at once.

Of course not! What in the world would we do with all that money?

1. You'll see a 70 cent raise by the end of the summer.
2. Another 70 cents will be added next year
3. By summer 2009 all minimum wage jobs will pay no less than $7.25 an hour
4. Making this absolutely priceless

By 2010 we surely will have been able to save enough to retire & live off the fat of the hog.

A boost in the minimum wage has been held hostage for years by a partisan standoff. But Democrats attached the provision to the $120 billion Iraq war spending bill.

President George W. Bush is expected to sign the legislation.
