TYLER - Shauntel Mayo - the woman that organized the "Mineola Swinger's Club" and forced her own children to perform there - was found guilty in a Smith County Courthouse Thursday.

The jury decided 29-year-old Shauntel Mayo's fate in less than five minutes.

She received the maximum sentence of life behind bars and required to pay a $10,000 fine for engaging in organized criminal activity. She will be eligible for parole in 25 years.

"The unthinkable," said Smith County assistant district attorney Joe Murphy. "She had her kids have sex with each other and taught them to masterbate. She taught them how to strip. She withheld food from them. All so she could make money."

The so-called "Mineola Swinger's Club" is a place where Mayo forced her kids to go, if they wanted dinner.

Inside that 'club', which was a rented-out business that ironically once served as a daycare and hospital, Mayo and five others are accused of running an operation that forced young children to dance and perform sexual skits for food.

Five of the children are now in custody and three of them are Mayo's kids.

Texas Ranger Phillip Kemp, the lead investigator in the case, testified Wednesday that he believes that at least 15 more kids 'performed' at the "Mineola Swinger's Club" - but the investigation to locate them continues.

In March and less than 10 minutes after deliberating, a Smith County jury found Mayo's live-in boyfriend, 36-year-old Jaime Pittman, guilty of aggravated sexual assault of a child and he was sentenced to life behind bars. Mayo's mother, Sheila Sones, is also charged in connection wtih this case.

At the times the alleged assaults took place in 2005, the defendant's children were a five-year-old girl, six-year-old boy and seven-year-old girl. The sibling's aunt and defendant's sister, who was also six-years- old, also testified she was forced to dance and have sex with the other children.

Late Wednesday afternoon, three young children and one teenager, took the stand and answered questions about Mayo's involvement in the case.

"We learned to strip (at 'kindergarten')," said the seven-year-old. " I had to touch my privates with my sister's and brother's privates for the people in the club."

The little boy testified about stripping for an audience that paid money to watch.

KETK does not identify sexual assault victims nor the new parents of these children.

According to the adoptive mother's testimony, three years removed from the sex ring, the kids still suffer extreme behavioral, emotional and physical problems.

One after another, the children described in graphic detail of a place they dubbed 'kindergarten.'

At 'kindergarten,' they said they learned how to strip, dance and perform sexual acts. First on dolls, then on each other. They also testified about 'silly pills.' Those pills were what each kid described they were given before going on stage. Prosecutors testified that the pills were likely Vicodin.

Upon "graduating" from 'kindergarten' the children said they moved on to "perform" at the club. After patrons paid a fee to get in, the kids say they had sexual contact with other children in front of an audience - including siblings and family members.

Jury members -- six men and four women -- cried as the kids testified. The children would not look at their mother until prosecutors asked them to identify and article of clothing she was wearing. Mayo sobbed upon seeing her kids and hearing the recollection of the events that took place, allegedly, in her care.

The children were adopted by a 60-year-old woman and man who said they have served as foster parents for 37 years. (found at KETK NBC 56)

"Since the start of the Iraq war, the military has begun holding on to amputees, treating them in rehab programs like the one here at Fort Sam Houston and promising to help them return to active duty if that is what they want.

The mindset of our Army has changed, to the extent that we realize the importance of all our soldiers and what they can contribute to our Army. Someone who loses a limb is still a very valuable asset," said Lt. Col. Kevin Arata, a spokesman for the Army's Human Resources Command at the Pentagon.

WASHINGTON -- Some of America's lowest-paid workers will get a pay raise this summer. Congress on Thursday approved the first increase in the federal minimum wage in almost a decade. Workers who now make $5.15 an hour will get a $2.10 raise. But it won't come all at once.

Of course not! What in the world would we do with all that money?

1. You'll see a 70 cent raise by the end of the summer.
2. Another 70 cents will be added next year
3. By summer 2009 all minimum wage jobs will pay no less than $7.25 an hour

A boost in the minimum wage has been held hostage for years by a partisan standoff. But Democrats attached the provision to the $120 billion Iraq war spending bill.

Sally Quinn of the Washington Post asks But Who Is Obama

I came across the most interesting article today as I surfed the Internet. What captivated my attention was the caption, "Do we know who Obama really is?" Sally Quinn who writes for the Washington Post proudly informs us as to how she is from Savannah GA and never in her life seen a man, woman or human being in the light as to whether they were black or white. And this really made Sally feel good about herself.

Quinn was reminded of her color blindness from a prior experience when she and her husband fled to Bahia in northern Brazil after the Nixon Watergate scandal. There Quinn had a stimulating conversation with a Brazilian Professor. The next day when she tried to relate this conversation to their host, well she couldn't remember if the professor was 'black or white.' And, because she couldn't remember, it excited her. No color was found in the eyes, which she was looking out of.

Sally Quinn feels the same way when she looks at Obama. Quinn doesn't see black or white. She doesn't notice what color Obama is. Quinn's words, "I see a really smart, appealing, thoughtful person."

Wow! He's appealing, (so is the Bronze Leaf lip color by Loreal which I'm wearing) he's really smart (my German Shepard, Ruby was smart, too) and last by not least, he's a very thoughtful person. I'm laughing and screaming at that one. My next door neighbors have been very thoughtful, when they shoveled the snow out from my driveway.

Her chosen words for the description of an African American presidential hopeful, that stands a better chance of becoming President, since Jesse Jackson, Rev. Al Sharpton or Shirley Chilsom blows me away. Especially since, the foremost question put to her while she and her husband toured the world was about Obama. This makes the man of no color to be seen, world renowned.

Now, Sally is adamant that she sees no color but here are a few of the comments made in the article which she wrote, A Welcome Face--And A Question, Obama Needs To Show Who Is On His Team.

"The staff Obama chooses will speak volumes about his judgment of people and what he thinks the job of president entails. They would be the face of an Obama White House. More than any other candidate who has run in a long time, we need that reassurance from him sooner rather than later." I am not saying his capacity to hold the job centers on a selection of well-known Washington operatives.

Then what are you saying? Sally goes on to state, that Hillary Clinton is Obama's biggest rival. And, that she has a well-known team behind her, which of course includes our former president Bill Clinton and Sidney Blumenthal, Terry McAuliffe, Howard Wolfson, Ann Lewis and Harold Ickes.

"You can talk about age or experience or race, but in the end a president is only as good as the people around him or her. A president can't be all things to all people and can't be an expert in everything."

Well, one thing Sally Quinn got right was, "a president can't be all things to all people." Because, the white presidents we've had in the past haven't been all things to all people. They have been all things to our White Society. And, to the working poor whom are white in this society, as of late they have been nothing to them, either. And, those presidential hopefuls who became the elects had the cream that floats on top backing them.

I would love to sit down with Sally Quinn and have a one on one honest shoot straight from the hip conversation with her. Why? I would like to hear the reasoning as to why Obama needs to let us know right now "More than any other candidate who has run in a long time", the assurance of whom is in his camp. More specifically, who Obama is listening too and takes advice from.

It's not Bush and that's the first thing we need to know. And, it's not Clinton, Jennifer Flowers, Monica Lewinsky and who else have I forgotten? Because, if an African American president would have been caught in the Oval Office with his pants down, wrapped around his ankles shooting the star spangle banner into a young White House Intern's mouth we wouldn't be having this conversation. And, if his wife decided to run for the presidential candidacy how far and long do you think that would have lasted. She certainly would not have Americans rallying behind her. An incident like this would have condemned and destroyed us people of color for the next billion years. And ya' know it.

So, Sally sees no color what a farce. Maybe, deep in her heart she feels that she doesn't. However, if this was true more concentration of what she knows about Obama would have been spoken on. The reasons why the citizens of American support him, etc. Instead, "he's appealing really smart and thoughtful."

Well Lady Quinn it's probably more politically correct for me to say, "I'm going to wait and vote for the best man/woman for the job. But, this is America and I don't have too. I will exercise my right--Freedom of Speech. I'm going to vote for Obama. If I have to crawl on my lips and teeth down Highway 275 during rush hour traffic I will be there at the polls when the doors open. My X will mark the spot for Barack Obama. And, I arrived at this decision months ago. He truly can not do me any worst than the past history of white Presidents in this country.

And, prayerfully if our brother and sisters called Haitians show up on his watch they won't be turned away like before. They will be welcomed in like the Mexicans, the Latinos, the Hispanics and any other foreign illegal alien who has the right to march down the streets in protest for a better life, who are offered bank loans, while demanding a better education, arguing about what's the first language, with a call to change the pledge of allegiance to the flag while looking at Me, as if I do not belong here.

I wish I could say, that I was speaking for every African American in this country. Because, this is one thing you can take to the bank, if a Mexican was running for President there would be no discussion in their community "Who Are We Voting For?" They would be voting for the Mexican presidential hopeful and they would make no apologies for it.

Tourist Must Now Obey Iran's Dress Code

Beirut & Tehran - Iran yesterday warned tourists and other foreigners visiting the country to obey its Islamic dress code in line with a nationwide crackdown against slack dressing, the ISNA news agency reported.

They're gearing up for the summer and over 10,000 warnings have been given to women in the past week for not appropriately being attired to that of the Islamic dress code. Women must cover their heads and hide their hips and curves.

Undercover police officers will be out an about looking for any women who are breaking their dress code. This will include members of non-Muslim minorities and all visiting foreigners. Hundreds of women have already been taken into custody, but released.

As reported by Ya Liban they have received pleas for help from the women.

One said: I am an Iranian girl, 23, and am scared to death to go out even for a short walk!Police forces are everywhere to arrest us if only a part of our hair is shown! It seems there is no other crime in the country except our appearance. Why we should not have the right to wear beautiful colored dress? Why should we hide our hair? Why beauty must be considered as a SIN?

Another wrote: Please do something to support us to get us back our freedom. There is no security here for women. Life is hell in Iran for women!

Another lady wrote: Ahmadinejad (the Iranian president) is discriminating against women. We are humans like everyone else and we want to be ourselves, not what he wants us to be. Please help us.

Race for Rights, Activism in the Dustbowl

Every year between 600,000 to 800,000 people, which are mostly comprised of women and children are exploited across national borders. They are forced into labor and/or sexual exploitation. Made to work long and grueling hours with sub-standard pay. Many are sold as sex slaves, abused and raped.

The event Race for Rights was organized by The Vietnamese Students Association (VSA). It was put together to raise money and aid victims of Human Trafficking.

Rev. Peter Nguyen Van Hung, executive director of the Vietnamese Migrant Workers and Brides office in Taiwan and founding member of the grassroots organization, VietACT (Vietnamese Alliance to Combat Trafficking) was the keynote speaker.

Reverend Hung with the help of the Vietnamese Migrant Workers have established shelters and safe havens for the victims. He fights to bring them back to their legal stages.

"The Vietnamese government does not care [about the issue]. We have to raise awareness in Vietnam and in our government. The U.S. has paid attention to the problem … but it is still a very big problem," said Hung.

Rosie O'Donnell believes 9/ll was an Inside Job

OOPS! She's done it again and this time they are not talking about Britany Spears. Rosie O'Donnell laid it right on The View's table regarding her position on 9/11 and the Bush Administration.

I personally don't know what was more fun, seeing Elizabeth choke and stagger, who is in my opinion, anti woman anti gay or anti anything which makes good common sense. She is such a judgemental young woman. Or, Rosie making Barbara Walters truly regret the day she ousted Star Reynold Jones. It was fabulous television watching.

O'Donnell, basically stated (implied) that 9/11 was an 'inside job'. The World Trade Center was brought down to ruin by the Bush Administration, in order to start a war and to cover up the Enron Scandal. I don't find this hard to believe.

I agree with Rosie, just as the loud applause rang out from the audience -- our government is corrupt. And, it's not like it started with the Bush Administration.

Several years ago and I sure wish I could pinpoint when I watched a 60 Minutes documentary on Skull & Bones, the secret society for some of the elite boys at Yale. I do believe that it was Ed Bradley who brought this to our attention. We know and have to admit they have some mighty strange rituals and quirks going on inside of it. I don't care about your sexual life or lack thereof. If they wanna masturbate while other members watch, then so be it. I don't care if they still sleep in coffins and caskets whatever rocks your boat.

However, the one bit of news that was reported which truly captivated my attention was IF any member should become President, then he is to start a war. Why? To boost the economy. Yeah, go figure that logic. So, between this oath that was taken and the fact Mama Bush and Daddy Bush made little George stay in the house too much. While all the other boys were outside playing they were grooming him to become the next president. And, now he's making up for lost time. He's playing cowboys and indians...with our sons and our daughters. Come on little George the street lights have been on it's time to come in from playing...with our children's lives.
