The LA Lesbian Girls - Gimme Sugar

So did anyone get to watch the season premiere of it?

Five hot young friends on the L.A. lesbian club scene bite off more than they can chew when they try to launch and promote their own club night. If they succeed, they'll be the youngest female promoters in LA. The girls will fight, fall in love, break apart, and come back together as they struggle to make their dream come true in this hot new reality series.
I think I'll try this program out, I haven't been happy with Logo lately, I haven't been happy with television to be quite frank....same ol' thing even on the premium channels.

My Mommy is Beautiful She's Had Plastic Surgery

Dr. Michael Salzhauer, a renowned plastic surgeon, wrote My Beautiful Mommy to help patients explain their transformation to their children. The story guides children through Mommy's surgery and healing process in a friendly, nonthreatening way.

a Response from Times Online:
"It’s about time this book came along. For years children have been very confused. Mummy used to look tired, fat and old. But then one day, she went away and when she came home she looked perpetually surprised."
How very what should I say on behalf of the words 'tired fat an old'? I guess maybe the ordinary woman they would describe like this - but the Hollywood Movie Stars are simply doing ?? Becoming more beautiful than they were before.

Now Plastic surgery isn't something I would choose for myself. Yet, I won't necessarily judge those who elect to cut. I'm not even sure how I feel about this book? Explaining to your young one about going under the knife -- I just don't know?

Any thoughts - Feel free to share - Speak on it - Leave a comment.

Bats For Breast Cancer

Photo
Oooh la la!

Aren't they beautiful? Pink is my absolute favorite color of all times! Sure I know it's girlie girlie - but that's the softer side of me. And, without any doubt this is for a very good cause.

In celebration of the upcoming 'Mothers Day' --

Louisville Slugger employee Joe Purvis paints pink baseball bats at the Hillerich & Bradsby's Louisville Slugger plant in Louisville, Kentucky, April 28, 2008. Major League Baseball players will use the pink bats during a Mother's Day promotion "Bats Against Breast Cancer" to benefit the Susan G. Komen for the Cure foundation.

GM Searching for Homos to Test Drive Cars

GM is looking for 'Homos For Hydrogen'!

They are actively looking for people of the LGBTQ community to test drive cars.

'Project Driveway' wants us to test drive the Chevrolet Equinox Fuel Cell Electric vehicle.

“More than 100 Chevrolet Equinox Fuel Cell electric vehicles will be loaned out to be test driven for up to three months in key cities where hydrogen fueling stations are currently available,” said Travis Parman, LGBT media relations manager at General Motors.

“Our goal is to get Equinox Fuel Cell test drivers that are as diverse as America. And since the LGBT community tends to have a lot of early adopters, we wanted to reach out and encourage LGBT residents to apply.”

Say What, Paris Hilton not expected to Serve the entire 45 Days

I promised myself I wasn't going to feed into the frenzy by writing one iota about Paris Hilton being sentenced. Sentenced to local county jail time. However, I must admit Becky at Just a Girl in shorts talking about whatever made me fall off the wagon. I've been secretly leaving comments, while enjoying her posts about the I'm so innocent naive dumb playing the part Paris Hilton. Because, dumb innocent and naive she is not.

But, I'm fuming right about now, yet absent of any anger. How in the world could it even be considered, that Miss Hilton probably will not serve the entire court ordered 45 days? It's simply based on the merit that she is Paris Hilton.

A drunk driver, which has happened on more than one occasion. The judge ordered her to enroll in an alcohol program. Miss Rich and Famous never bothered to do so. "I'm sorry your Honor, but it's the fault of my Publicist." Whatever Paris! Because, in the very State that she resides & drives drunk in I have family members that I love.

Innocent people are sent to death row everyday. And, the judges nor prosecutors will acknowledge the DNA, witnesses , along with solid evidence that they're innocent. That these individuals could not possibly committed this crime, but the evidence falls on deaf ears.

It takes 20 to 30 years to sometimes overturn a ruling. But Paris she's overturning the judge's ruling in how many days. I don't wanna hear nothing about murder -vs- drunk driving, because drunk driving turns into murder. Principle is principle. She needs to take her little ass to prison jail whatever ya' want to call it.

Okay, now I'm getting angry so I better quit. And, Paris should best be glad that she's not my next door neighbor. I'd call the police every time she started up her car. At least in my mind I would want to do so, even if I didn't.

Two thumbs down, Paris and no snaps from me!

Aisha Tyler Poses Nude for Glamour Magazine

Aisha was the guest host on The View, today. She made two announcements. One was that she recently posed nude for Glamour Magazine. Now slow your roll it's not what you're thinking. The photos are part of a campaign for positive body image. The object of this photo layout is for women not to focus on their body images. This was about embracing your body no matter what the shape or size.

In other words, let's celebrate the dents, the dimples, the rolls and the cellulite. It's time for us women to focus on more important issues. Volunteering, mentoring, achieving our goals, living our dreams and simply being at peace while we live our lives. Isn't this a novel idea?! We as women need to stop letting the media, men an anyone else dictate how we should look and how we feel about ourselves. And, it's certainly way past time.

We, the viewers were allowed to see a few of the photos which will soon be featured in the magazine.

Joy Behar's response was, "When did Glamour start doing porn?" And, this is all I'm going to say about that remark. I refuse to allow Ms. Behar to bait me. I will not go off on a tangent, a rant or a rave. I will not give her that satisfaction. I understand the true essence of the meaning behind Aisha's nude photo layout and I applaud her. However, Aisha confided through out the shoot she was sweating bullets. Sponges had to be placed under her arm pits. I had to giggle.

You know, posted on my bulletin board above my computer is a picture of a faceless woman, that is nude. Everyone who enters my office immediately sees her naked body. It comes into their full view. The majority of the comments I hear, "What a nice piece of art." Even males compliment this still portrait. The faceless body has a few rolls or rather ripples, what some would call fat surrounding her waist. Yet, it looks so natural and oh so beautiful. The real image of a real woman. There is absolutely nothing pornographic about it.

I also personally find women who have beautiful tresses and locks of white & silver hair amazing in how strikingly beautiful in which they are. These women exude such confidence, as if they have reached a peace the world just can't take away. They've earned their stripes & they have paid their dues. What someone thinks no longer matters to them. Too bad every woman can't arrive at this place by the time we reach the age of twenty years old.

The 2nd and last announcement Aisha Tyler had to make was that she would be ringing the closing bell later in the day at the NASDAQ. I wish I could have been there to hear the music play.

Rutgers Meets Imus

Yes, they have agreed to meet with Imus. The coach stated the comments about her team was "racist and sexist remarks that are deplorable, despicable and unconscionable."

These young ladies before you are valedictorians, future doctors, musical prodigies", coach C. Vivian Stringer told a nationally publicized news conference a day after an uproar Imus' comments led to a two-week suspension of his show.

Imus has been making the rounds in defense of himself and being very apologetic. However, with his apologies comes a lot of buts. He's spoken with Matt Lauer of the Today Show and Al Sharpton on Sharp Talk radio. Imus is spending too much time focusing on who else publicly references black women as hos. Be that as it may and I'll give him that, it still makes his comments not right.

I'll go back to the old adage our parents would reference to, "if your friends jumped off a bridge would you?" This reminds me of when Neal Boortz publicly announced on his Nationally Syndicated radio talk show that Rep. Cynthia Mckinney was a "ghetto slut". He was referencing to the hair style which she was sporting.

It never ceases to amaze me that when Caucasians want to attack the African American woman first thing right out the gate is the demeaning insults about our hair. Then it's followed by the way in which we speak, our grammar, our diction and the choice of how we structure words in sentences.

I always know when I've got the upper hand in a debate or conversation, because I've met with those same kind of blows. Basically I just giggle and laugh. You see I had been wondering exactly how long will it take for them to begin insulting me like this. When all else fails this is what people of that caliber will resort to. Anything to take the attention off I'm making more valid points. Why? Because, 'it ain't no fun when the rabbit has the gun'.

And, Imus you've got the gun pointing in your direction this time.

Read more at Rutgers team angry but will meet with Imus.

MSNBC's Imus calls them Nappy Head Hos

Well, we all should know by now that Imus and his executive producer Bernard McGuirk are basically some idiots to put it nicely.

Normally, you can tune in and watch & listen as Bernard makes the foulest jokes and remarks about gay lesbian bisexual and transgender people. Ooh, it just cracks him up. He really is alittle sad man.

But on April 4th their focus was on Rutgers young African American female basketball players. No big deal as far as he was concerned to call them some nappy head hos.

Bernard chimes in and calls them some hard core hos. All the while, they just giggled and laugh. Near the end of their insults they were some jigaboos. I don't know how anybody truly watches him. And, Bernard he really can't bait me nor make me mad. However, it would give me great pleasure, you know fun to bend him over and put a hot poker up his Happy 4th of July.

Hey, I'm just having fun like they always are. These characters have some deeply rooted issues which extend further than racism, gaycism or sexism.

Once again, thanks Feministing for the heads up.

DOVE Launched a Campaign Promoting The Mature Woman

DOVE has done it again!

They have kicked off a campaign promoting the beauty of the maturer woman. And why not seeing as we mature women are spending a phenomenal amount of dollars on their products.

Yet, they didn't have to do it but they did.

As one of those more maturer women I find it self~fulling to see my very body image displayed in a national ad campaign.

I have very seldom ever been ashamed nor uncomfortable with my body. I can embrace my cellulite ripples and dimples. And, let's face it ladies cellulite to the body is hard to overcome. Very few womyn of any ages are absent & null and void of this plague. It's part of the territory.

We need to be proud without any shame wear it like a badge of honor because it is. We've earned our stripes and we've paid our dues by merely being Womyn. The ads commercials and promo's in the media is only a sales hype. Don't let the billboards get you down. I don't and I won't.

Dove Campaign for Real Beauty, 'Pro-Age' is promoting their products specifically designed for the woman over '40' but they feel 'beauty has no age limit'.

Read the comments some of guest panel spoke regarding this campaign at http://shetheuniversehasspoken.typepad.com/

Some women weren't happy with the display of our human body.
