Pride Festival banned the Canadian military

Hamilton Pride Festival banned the Canadian military over what it says are human rights violations in countries where the armed forces are serving - notably Afghanistan and Haiti.

(Hamilton, Ontario) Gays and lesbians have been part of the Canadian military since 1992 when the armed forces lifted its ban on gays from serving.

But, now they're not welcomed at the Hamilton Pride Festival.

IN THE LIFE a Conversation With Judy Shepard

IN THE LIFE host Michael Billy talks with Judy Shepard, ten years after her son Matthew was brutally murdered in Laramie, Wyoming. Since then, she has become a champion for education, social justice and pride.

SEGMENT ONE

Judy Shepard has spoken to over one million students, since her son's death. She narrates the one thing which keeps her going are the children whose parents aren't supportive, those who are rejected.

Yet there is one story in particular that stands out for Mrs. Shepard.

A 16 year old boy informed his mother one morning on the way to school, that he was gay. He felt this would be the best time, she was driving and they had an audience. Sadly, homophobia and hatred still prevailed. The young man's mother pulled the car over and put him out. Making sure that he understood, that she never wanted to see him again. (doesn't this sound horrid!)

SEGMENT TWO

Judy speaks on Oklahoma Lawmaker Sally Kern, hate crime and the Bush Administration. She also wonders where the community responsibility as a whole was when it came to Lawrence King and his convicted accuser. How the school's involvement has a stake in teaching against homophobia and any hatred due to 'difference'.

Video: Memphis Police officer beats transexual in booking station

This is unbelievable and when officers of the court conduct themselves as such their badges should be taken away.

There are no If-And's-or-But's in this matter.

according to 2015Place.com this is how the story goes....

MEMPHIS, TN.Memphis police officer beating a suspect at 201 Poplar in an apparent case of police brutality.

The video, recorded February 12th, shows Duanna Johnson in the booking area at the Shelby County Criminal Justice Center after an arrest for prostitution. The tape clearly shows a Memphis police officer walk over to Johnson - a transsexual - and hit her in the face several times."

Actually he was trying to get me to come over to where he was, and I responded by telling him that wasn't my name - that my mother didn't name me a 'faggot' or a 'he-she,' so he got upset and approached me. And that's when it started," Johnson said.

"We wanted some acknowledgement - my client did - so she would know that the Memphis Police Department didn't condone this," said Murray Wells, Johnson's attorney. "We were optimistic that they would be as outraged about this as we are, and we haven't gotten any indication that they're interested in it at all.

A copy of the tape was reviewed by both the FBI and the District Attorney's office, the latter of which dropped all charges against Johnson. An FBI investigation into possible civil rights violations is still underway.

Meanwhile, the Memphis Police Department confirmed that the officer holding Johnson was on probation, and has been fired. The officer who threw the punches is currently on non-enforcement status pending an administrative hearing.

and this is why i do not own a gun, 'cause i would shoot it.

Let's focus on the not so pretty of the Gay and Lesbian

According to Brian Fitzpatrick, guest columnist of OneNewsNow.com the media is in a gay lesbian bisexual and transgender hoopla of positive images of the community.

However, instead of showing the pride celebrations and the wonders of the same-sex marriage, that has been granted we should talk about this:

Here are a few facts the media ought to be discussing:
  • Despite the greater ability of same-sex partners to understand each others' points of view, same-sex relationships tend to be short-lived. (Diggs, The Health Risks of Gay Sex, p. 9)

  • Homosexual households are also more prone to domestic violence. For example: "The incidence of domestic violence among gay men is nearly double that in the heterosexual population," according to D. Island and P. Letellier in Men Who Beat the Men Who Love Them (New York: Haworth Press, 1991). A study in the Journal of Social Service Research reported that "slightly more than half of the [lesbians surveyed] reported that they had been abused by a female lover/partner." (G. Lie and S. Gentlewarrior, "Intimate Violence in Lesbian Relationships: Discussion of Survey Findings and Practice Implications," No. 15, 1991.)

  • Same-sex "marriage" doesn't just redefine who can be married, it's an attempt to redefine marriage itself. As homosexual writer Michelangelo Signorile put it, "A middle ground might be to fight for same-sex marriage and its benefits and then, once granted, redefine the institution of marriage completely, to demand the right to marry not as a way of adhering to society's moral codes but rather to debunk a myth and radically alter an archaic institution."(OUT magazine, 1994)

  • How will the "archaic institution" be redefined? Pro-homosexual author Judith Levine: "Because American marriage is inextricable from Christianity, it admits participants as Noah let animals onto the ark. But it doesn't have to be that way. In 1972, the National Coalition of Gay Organizations demanded the repeal of all legislative provisions that restrict the sex or number of persons entering into a marriage unit; and the extension of legal benefits to all persons who cohabit regardless of sex or numbers .... Group marriage could comprise any combinations of genders."

  • A new definition of monogamy that excludes fidelity, especially among gay males. In a 1984 study of 156 male couples in relationships lasting 1 to 37 years, researchers McWhirter and Mattison found that only seven couples had maintained sexual fidelity, and none of the exclusive couples had been together for more than five years. (Also, see Diggs, The Health Risks of Gay Sex, p. 8.)

Same-sex "marriage" offers our friends in the press quite a lot to write about, if they'd just take off those party hats." OneNewsNow.com

Poor little thing really has it twisted!

Let's talk about Divorce and the reason for it - granted to heterosexuals who could no longer get along. And, what about Domestic Violence laws and shelters? Uhm why are the laws and shelters in existence - because heterosexuals beat the crap out of the ones they've been known to love. Let's see monogamy - please just give me a break, another one of the adulterous reasons for divorce as a law. And, since we're on the subject - why do we have Adoption an adoption laws - because for whatever reason heterosexual couples and singles chose to not raise their children.

Any of the categories and topics which dear sweet Fitzpatrick wants to focus on he best remember how its origination was formed.

So, God Killed Him For Loving Fags

I found this over at My Left Wing....

The gentleman pictured below was singing and celebrating the victories of our LGBT community and gay marriage, at City Hall. While strumming his guitar he dropped dead. Sad, huh?

Well check this out -- "One of the Christian protesters (pictured below) were chanting at his body - "Satan Got You!" "What is the Devil whispering in your ear about now?"

And these holier than thou Christians really do try & figure out why people do not participate in Christianity nor organized religion. I mean foreal where is the Love for thy brother and sister? I don't even know why I'm getting upset!

Anti Gay Protestors outside City Hall

Check out this video, seriously these antigay fuckers really need to go get a life yall!

Kenneth and Keith the first to be married in Alameda County - watch the video - it made me happy brought a big smile on my face!

It's such a feeling of satisfaction and pride, because it's the right thing to do - implementing civil rights and granting human rights...

Lesbians and Straight Men Have Similar Brains

well new studies are out, finding that gay men and straight women not only have similar brains, but there is a relation with lesbians and straight men, when it comes too -- that's right our brains.

MRI and PET scan studies are showing remarkable similarities between the brains of gay men and straight women, and between those of lesbians and straight men.

For example, the brains of straight men and of gay women share certain common features: both are slightly asymmetric, with the right hemisphere larger than the left, say the Swedish researchers.

On the other hand, the brains of gay men and straight women are both symmetrical.

Similar trends emerged when scientists tracked connectivity in the amygdala, the region of the brain involved in emotional learning and in activating the fight-or-flight response. They noted strong similarities between gay men and straight women, and lesbians and straight men.

Two Ohio lawmakers join new LGBT Equality Caucus

This is my home state - finally something good!

Two Ohio lawmakers are among the charter members of a Congressional LGBT Equality Caucus formed last week.

Reps. Dennis Kucinich of Cleveland and Betty Sutton of Akron, both Democrats, have joined in the venture led by openly lesbian and gay Reps. Tammy Baldwin of Wisconsin and Barney Frank of Massachusetts with 61 others, including two Republicans. The caucus was launched on June 4.

Gay People's Chronicle.com Ohio's Weekly Newspaper for the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Community.

Wow...with all the changes that are taking place across this entire globe I'm beginning to feel protection against homophobia for the LGBT in Ohio.

It's amazing that, convicted child predators and rapists have a certain degree of equality that our gays lesbians bisexual and transgender citizens here don't.

That's scary!

Queen Latifah will marry her longterm partner Jeannette Jenkins

Well you go head on Miss Thang!

"This week’s National Enquirer states that Queen Latifah plans to marry her partner of five years, personal trainer Jeannette Jenkins, after the groundbreaking ruling in California that legalized same-sex marriages. Latifah has been notoriously tight-lipped about her relationship with Jenkins, and told Ebony Magazine that she was not going to comment on the rumor that Jenkins was her girlfriend. She didn’t deny it, she just got annoyed that someone even asked her the question:"

Anyone who seen the movie "Set it Off" shouldn't really be shocked that the Queen is a lesbian - Oh No! not the way she was rubbing on.... honey that wasn't no make believe... or acting.

I am so happy for her and I wish that the wedding could be televised bring us some sparkle in our day.

Congratulations! To the Queen and Jeannette.

The Joy of Gay Sex Pulled From Shelf of an Idaho Public Library

The removal of these books has caused quite the debate among library board members and the community over the years. The board has voted on the issue four times in the past two years, initially rejecting the censorship request unanimously in 2006. The mayor appointed three new board members since then, and all voted in favor of removal.

"The Joy of Gay Sex" and "The New Joy Sex" are now removed permanently, they will be kept in the director's office, available upon request.
Even in school libraries, the U.S. Supreme Court has sided against removal of library books once they are already on the shelf. School board members cannot vote to remove a book simply because it goes against their religious beliefs or they do not like the ideas displayed in the book. Board of Education v. Pico, 457 U.S. 853, 868 (1982) (plurality).

You can read about hate genocide how to make a bomb and all kinds of uglies, you can even pull a book off the shelf about your President George W. Bush, but something as natural as 'sex and the joy of it' well go through the director.

Geezle Pete the Library of Education!

1. Sex Education books voted off Nampa library Shelves.
2. Americans United for Separation of Church and State.

But I'm Not Gay!

Could you all answer something for me please?

I just finished reading my e-mails from the LGBT group I'm a member of through Barack Obama a Change We Can Believe In - his official website. It's always amazing to me as I read the many messages, just how many start off by saying,

"I AM NOT GAY, but...."
Then they proceed to share the information, which they are e-mailing us about. Why is this?

I have noticed that every group, blog etc. which I'm a member of that is LGBT oriented (so it's not only Obama's) right out the starting gate the author of the message must relate that they are not Gay. So what? Do you want us to give you some cookies or would you simply prefer that We jump and down?

If they're just passing on pertinent information and data why do they feel compelled to tell us, "Hey Now, don't get it twisted I'm straight!"

Are they afraid thru their emails postings and comments we will try and make a move on them or what? I'm a lesbian, but when I enter what is allegedly a 'quote unquote' heterosexual group, committee - I do not start off with
HEY, but I'M GAY - NOW YOU REMEMBER That!
I dunno, I'm just finding it a little irritating this evening.....

Do you have any thoughts?

Ruth loved Naomi as Adam loved Eve Suck It Up

Hey don't get mad at me those are the very words found in your Bible, so do you think Adam loved Eve like a sister or a pet goat? Of course not! He loved her like a man loves a woman, his helpmate and lover. Can I get an agreement on that?

Then for those who take their Holy Bible at its very words, then tell me why is so hard to understand that Ruth loved Naomi as Adam loved Eve? Is it because this love was celebrated an accepted? Is it because this goes against the very grain of the hatred and condemnation they've been taught?

My big sister is a Pastor who oftentimes crosses the line of a religious nut. She use to believe that we would go to Hell by wearing make up and painting our fingernails. Needless to say, my lipstick was Cherry Red and my well manicured nails - that's right matching in shade. It was hard for her to break even those thoughts/beliefs.

She struggled so hard and at the end Big Sis admitted that it meant saying the teachings she'd been taught were all wrong. And that's not easy for a Christian to do. My sister was very religious and for decades this is what she related to her congregation, this is what she taught many a woman. The thought of telling them - Oops! - I was wrong was harder than living in bondage and more importantly living a lie.

Anyways.....Ruth loved Naomi as Adam loved Eve -- YaY! Maybe before it's all over people will understand how I can say, 'That God is a Dyke.

Teacher Announces To Students, Guess What I'm Gay

What the heck was this teacher thinking? Maybe she wasn't thinking at all. And the school principal was not only experiencing a momentary lapse of judgment, but what is it called 'brain dead'?

I'm a supporter of living out loud and being True To Thy Own Self, but announcing to your middle class students that your gay/lesbian is taking it a bit too far, in my opinion. This educator operates from a premise of honesty with her pupils. While encouraging the exact behavior from them.

Stephanie Rowe felt sharing this information (just once) with her seventh graders would be as simple as that, afterwards they'd lay it to rest. Anyone dealing with young teens should have expected curiosity to come into play. Curiosity and questions for days on in.

My concern is the lack of disregard shown for the parents. I respect the fact many wouldn't choose for this as a topic of discussion with their children. And it's their right. Ms. Rowe 's sexual orientation should have remained her personal business. Not because it is something shameful but everyone has different values beliefs and truths about this issue. This wasn't generalized talk about gays and lesbians nor the dreaded word of disdain I feel when I hear the word homosexuality ( hate that word).

Ms. Rowe took it to another level making herself the focus and part of the equation. Teachers do not stand in the middle of the classroom to discuss their heterosexuality and if they're smart do not divulge things about their personal or intimate lives. It opens too many doors which may never get shut.

Apparently many where aware of the teacher's intentions, she emailed her colleagues an informed them of her plans. Read on cause the parents were not happy with this. Oops I made a boo boo should have kept my mouth shut!
