Let's focus on the not so pretty of the Gay and Lesbian

According to Brian Fitzpatrick, guest columnist of OneNewsNow.com the media is in a gay lesbian bisexual and transgender hoopla of positive images of the community.

However, instead of showing the pride celebrations and the wonders of the same-sex marriage, that has been granted we should talk about this:

Here are a few facts the media ought to be discussing:
  • Despite the greater ability of same-sex partners to understand each others' points of view, same-sex relationships tend to be short-lived. (Diggs, The Health Risks of Gay Sex, p. 9)

  • Homosexual households are also more prone to domestic violence. For example: "The incidence of domestic violence among gay men is nearly double that in the heterosexual population," according to D. Island and P. Letellier in Men Who Beat the Men Who Love Them (New York: Haworth Press, 1991). A study in the Journal of Social Service Research reported that "slightly more than half of the [lesbians surveyed] reported that they had been abused by a female lover/partner." (G. Lie and S. Gentlewarrior, "Intimate Violence in Lesbian Relationships: Discussion of Survey Findings and Practice Implications," No. 15, 1991.)

  • Same-sex "marriage" doesn't just redefine who can be married, it's an attempt to redefine marriage itself. As homosexual writer Michelangelo Signorile put it, "A middle ground might be to fight for same-sex marriage and its benefits and then, once granted, redefine the institution of marriage completely, to demand the right to marry not as a way of adhering to society's moral codes but rather to debunk a myth and radically alter an archaic institution."(OUT magazine, 1994)

  • How will the "archaic institution" be redefined? Pro-homosexual author Judith Levine: "Because American marriage is inextricable from Christianity, it admits participants as Noah let animals onto the ark. But it doesn't have to be that way. In 1972, the National Coalition of Gay Organizations demanded the repeal of all legislative provisions that restrict the sex or number of persons entering into a marriage unit; and the extension of legal benefits to all persons who cohabit regardless of sex or numbers .... Group marriage could comprise any combinations of genders."

  • A new definition of monogamy that excludes fidelity, especially among gay males. In a 1984 study of 156 male couples in relationships lasting 1 to 37 years, researchers McWhirter and Mattison found that only seven couples had maintained sexual fidelity, and none of the exclusive couples had been together for more than five years. (Also, see Diggs, The Health Risks of Gay Sex, p. 8.)

Same-sex "marriage" offers our friends in the press quite a lot to write about, if they'd just take off those party hats." OneNewsNow.com

Poor little thing really has it twisted!

Let's talk about Divorce and the reason for it - granted to heterosexuals who could no longer get along. And, what about Domestic Violence laws and shelters? Uhm why are the laws and shelters in existence - because heterosexuals beat the crap out of the ones they've been known to love. Let's see monogamy - please just give me a break, another one of the adulterous reasons for divorce as a law. And, since we're on the subject - why do we have Adoption an adoption laws - because for whatever reason heterosexual couples and singles chose to not raise their children.

Any of the categories and topics which dear sweet Fitzpatrick wants to focus on he best remember how its origination was formed.

Queen Latifah will marry her longterm partner Jeannette Jenkins

Well you go head on Miss Thang!

"This week’s National Enquirer states that Queen Latifah plans to marry her partner of five years, personal trainer Jeannette Jenkins, after the groundbreaking ruling in California that legalized same-sex marriages. Latifah has been notoriously tight-lipped about her relationship with Jenkins, and told Ebony Magazine that she was not going to comment on the rumor that Jenkins was her girlfriend. She didn’t deny it, she just got annoyed that someone even asked her the question:"

Anyone who seen the movie "Set it Off" shouldn't really be shocked that the Queen is a lesbian - Oh No! not the way she was rubbing on.... honey that wasn't no make believe... or acting.

I am so happy for her and I wish that the wedding could be televised bring us some sparkle in our day.

Congratulations! To the Queen and Jeannette.

McCain supporters cheer anti-gay message and marriage

The cheers began when McCain stated, "I just frankly believe in the sanctity and unique status of marriage between man and woman." "That's what I believe, that's what I support and that what I will fight for."

I think that is so funny!

Heterosexuals want to preserve the sanctity of marriage, yet the divorce rate is at an all time high. And whose fault is that - gays and lesbians? McCain and his adamant preservation of marriage went straight out the door when he opted for divorce - allegedly due to cheating. Infidelity isn't that what it's called. I'm pretty sure the result of his divorce was just as Senator Obama has said, "No one's marriage has fallen apart from witnessing two men or two women holding hands or kissing."

Mainstream and their issues always have to find a scapegoat. Someone to place the blame on beside themselves. Unfortunately, gays and lesbians are the scapegoats for the ruins of their marriages. Seriously what kind of logic and sense does this make - none.

For the people who oppose same sex marriage, they best come up with something different than 'in the sanctity of - or - God made Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve'. This can be compared to the Clinton's old way of politics, which has clearly gotten them defeated.

Give me that old time religion is dead!

That old time religion coming from those Bible scriptures has been used to promote racism, oppression, genocide, slavery, hatred and wars in many a nation.

Why Marriage Won't Play as Campaign Issue in 2008

Changing public opinion on gay issues -- along with major concerns over economic problems and the Iraq war -- means marriage is unlikely to resonate as a negative issue with voters this November, according to columnist Albert R. Hunt, executive editor for Washington at Bloomberg News. "The gay-marriage issue, seized on by President George W. Bush's former political guru, Karl Rove, may have been moderately helpful to Republicans in 2004; it won't distract voters from other concerns -- like the economy, health care and the war in Iraq -- in 2008," Hunt writes.

Same Sex Marriage is a needed boost for the state of California

I just read some very interesting news,
Wedding planners, bakers and hotels began booking more business almost immediately after the state Supreme Court's May 15 decision overturning a ban on gay marriage. Citing pent-up demand, one UCLA study projects that same-sex unions could provide a $370-million shot in the arm to the state economy over the next three years. And, listen to this "By some estimates, weddings and commitment ceremonies for same-sex couples generate $1 billion a year in revenue".
You know money talks and bull---- does not.

I bet these figures are coming into consideration and play?

Berlin is Honoring their Gay and Lesbian Victims of the Holocaust

A memorial to the homosexual victims of the Nazis has been unveiled in Berlin. The memorial is a grey slab of concrete containing a screen which shows a looped video of two men kissing. Every two years the video will alternate between two men and two women.
This just touches my heart on so many levels, with all the historic changes that are taking place here in America. We have an African American Black Man running for the United States President, an unless something major and disastrous occurs is not only our Democratic Presidential Nominee, but Senator Barack Obama will be elected our first official African American Black - man of color - President - of the United States.

And -- I can't forget Hillary Rodman Clinton though she is not our first woman who has ran for US Presidency, she is the first woman that has come this far.

Then, just less than 48 hours, again historical changes have taken place with same sex marriage here in the United States. We are arriving to the point where gays lesbians and transgenders have a civil right to get married and divorced - just like the straights - oops! should I say Heterosexuals...lol!

This really blew me away --
Berlin’s openly gay mayor, Klaus Wowereit, unveiled the memorial. He said: “This memorial is important from two points of view — to commemorate the victims, but also to make clear that even today, after we have achieved so much in terms of equal treatment, discrimination still exists daily.”
I live in Cincinnati Ohio and we still cannot have an openly gay mayor. And, this is called America the Super Power of the World - whatever man!!

NY Gov. Paterson Makes Groundbreaking Decision on Gay Marriage

Opposition is forming against Gov. David Paterson's directive to state agencies to recognize gay marriages legally performed in other states and countries.

The Rev. Duane Motley of New Yorkers for Constitutional Freedoms says the Democratic governor is circumventing the Legislature and courts and slapping New Yorkers in the face. [yeah yeah whatever suck it up Reverend and move on to something else]

You can keep reading this story We're Off To The Chapel And They're Going To Get Married!

And the video - the happiness - the love - the victory!!

It literally gave me the chills I am so happy for everyone....

Did Ellen put Jenna Bush on the spot Wedding or no Wedding at the ranch?

As much as I would like to see the wedding take place at the ranch -

Jenna's 'yes' sounded more like a reply from a person who is put on the spot --

In front of millions of people....

I don't think it's going to happen - Nah ... but hopefully they will prove me wrong.

Issuing Marriage Licenses to Gay Couples the Moral Equivalent of Gassing Jews

Sometimes ignorance and stupidity can really just leave you dumbfounded ---

"Save California, an anti-gay group that is calling asking it supporters to call county clerks and demand that they refuse to issue marriage licenses to gay couples."

Ask your county clerk if they were a Nazi officer during WWII and had been ordered to gas the Jews, would they? At the Nuremberg trials, they would have been convicted of murder for following this immoral order.
This has since been removed from their website: Save California - Campaign for Children and Families. I mean they are seriously funny but they are emotionally crippled.

Yet, these are the kind of so-called moral and God abiding Christians that if the opportunity presented itself would kill you as you walked down a public street.

Sad little creatures aren't they?

California Supreme Court Rejects Gay Marriage Ban, But No Impact On Religious Doctrines

Everybody is not jumping up and down in regards to The California Supreme Court 4-3 decision, that under the California Constitution, same-sex couples have the right to marry. As a matter of fact, Chief "Justice Ronald M. George declared that any law that discriminates on the basis of sexual orientation will from this point on be constitutionally suspect in California in the same way as laws that discriminate by race or gender, making the state's high court the first in the nation to adopt such a stringent standard." (sure wish it was like this all over the world).

Yet, just because the California Supreme Court has made this ruling it does not require any religious officiant to solemnize a marriage in contravention of his or her religious beliefs and no religion will be required to change its religious policies or practices.

Here are some links that maybe of interest In re Marriage Cases/In The Supreme Court of California, The LA Times, and links to the briefs and recordings of the oral arguments in the case.

California Ends Gay Couple's Exclusion From Marriage

as reported by Freedom To Marry --

The California Supreme Court handed down a historic decision upholding the freedom to marry in In Re: Marriage Cases. The second state high court to rule in favor of ending the exclusion of same-sex couples from marriage said, “in view of the substance and significance of the fundamental constitutional right to form a family relationship, the California Constitution properly must be interpreted to guarantee this basic civil right [marriage] to all Californians, whether gay or heterosexual, and to same-sex couples as well as to opposite-sex couples.”

“This righteous decision of this most respected state high court will give Americans the chance to experience what they've begun to see for the last few years in Massachusetts, South Africa, Canada, Spain, Belgium, and the Netherlands – the lived reality that ending exclusion from marriage helps families and harms no one,” said Evan Wolfson, executive director of Freedom to Marry and author of Why Marriage Matters: America, Equality and Gay People's Right to Marry. “California's sun will illuminate the nation.”

The milestone California ruling comes as the country marks the 60th anniversary of another historic ruling, Perez v. Sharp. In Perez, the California Supreme Court became the first court in the country to strike down race restrictions on marriage, also by a vote of 4-3, at a time when polls showed 90% opposing interracial marriage. Wolfson noted, “Today, the justices of the California Supreme Court again lived up to their oath to uphold the Constitution for all, and as with their courageous past stands against discrimination in marriage, we will all be the better and history will vindicate them.”

Noting that opponents of equality have submitted signatures that may trigger a November vote on an anti-gay measure aimed at amending the state constitution to bar committed same-sex couples from the equal freedom to marry, Wolfson said, “Thanks to the Court's just decision, voters will get to make an informed decision, having the chance to see actual married couples and realize it is wrong to put obstacles in their path.”

Freedom to Marry salutes the leadership of National Center for Lesbian Rights, Lambda Legal, the American Civil Liberties Union, Heller Ehrman LLP and the Law Office of David C. Codell, and the City of San Francisco, who represented fifteen same-sex couples, Equality California, and Our Family Coalition in this case.

Freedom to Marry is the gay and non-gay partnership working to win marriage equality nationwide. Launched in 2003, Freedom to Marry is headed by Evan Wolfson, nationally recognized as a central "architect of the marriage equality movement." Freedom to Marry guides and focuses this social justice movement on a nationwide level, serving as a strategy and support center for national, state, and local partners, a catalyst that drives and shapes the national debate on marriage equality, and an alliance-builder fostering support from non-gay allies.
