Did Ellen put Jenna Bush on the spot Wedding or no Wedding at the ranch?

As much as I would like to see the wedding take place at the ranch -

Jenna's 'yes' sounded more like a reply from a person who is put on the spot --

In front of millions of people....

I don't think it's going to happen - Nah ... but hopefully they will prove me wrong.

Big Love and The Polygamist People in it

I'm not a big TV watcher but over the Memorial Day weekend I somehow got hooked on this HBO series called Big Love and for once I'm glad we have this extra accessory called HBO on demand. I'm watching episode after episode. I even cursed them when I went to pick up on episode 9 and the bastards had removed 9 -14, they had expired.

It's a really funny program and I wouldn't know if it's remotely close to portraying the real lives of those who participate in this lifestyle. I do know that one of my favorite characters is a woman named Wanda, she speaks with a country dialect and she poisons all the men that irritate her - that gets under her skin.

And, most often Nicki has been the one that I have wanted to strangle and now I just took a Quiz that tells me I am the most like her - ugh ugh ugh no friggin way.

"YOU'RE A NICKI" - Occasionally self involved and cool, you are completely devoted to your family and mate -- and you know how to get what you want (well all that's true!)

If you wanna take the test or play the Big Love Land -
You've just witnessed your husband fighting with second wife. You might boost your status as third wife when you rush to tell all to first wife. Think again, because second wife is right behind you, listening to all the juiciest parts. Lose 300 Big Love Points, LOL!
Well getting ready to fix me a cup of coffee and if you get bored today or find yourself wishing that you were married to a man and were his first poly wife then just try your luck in Big Love Land to see if you end up the head of the household or the rookie wife.

HBO Big Love.

Imus In The Morning was Put To Bed Last Night

There shouldn't be any doubt, that I am ecstatically happy for the decision made to have Imus In The Morning put to sleep last night. Yep, he was laid down. Don Imus and Bernard McGuirk have been making bigot, racist, sexist & homophobic jokes and comments that truly cross the line for far too long.

Freedom of Speech appears the biggest argument at hand against the firing of Imus.

Many feel Imus' rights were not protected under it. And, that is so wrong. Freedom of Speech granted him, Bernard and any other visiting guest on the panel of let's bash and spew venom, the opportunity & authority too speak such hatred. And, for how many years?

People who exercise their right to say whatever they will based on Freedom of Speech, must remember with this comes Consequences. There are consequences to what one saids or does in this life. No one took away his Freedom of Speech.

Imus' sponsors have a right to choose just whom they place their advertising dollars with. Personally, I do not believe if Imus was yanked off the air for any other reason than for what he said, that it would be a problem or such controversy. Maybe I'm wrong?

The argument "Black Rappers say hos and bitches all the time." And, the black community embraces it. Not!

The focus is concentrated on the African Americans who buy it and promote it. Little attention is paid to those which find it disgusting and reprehensible. Why? It doesn't sell. Unless of course someone like Bill Cosby or Oprah speaks out on it. Then it's presented by the media and news coverage like some kind of 'Breaking News' as if they are going against the grain of mainstream African Americans. And, this is not true.

There are equally as many African Americans who despise and hate the lyrics of black rappers. Not only the words they speak on black women but the many insidious lyrics of killing white cops, often lyrically sang as 'kill them motha f-- po po'.

Just as there are rap artists completely null & void of lyrics degrading any women, not just black women. These rap artists have a message with a meaning, like most songs should and do. But ya see, it's not popular to promote those artists in mainstream entertainment news and coverage.
In 2005, Essence Magazine launched a campaign Take Back The Music.

We at ESSENCE have become increasingly concerned about the degrading ways in which Black women are portrayed and spoken about in popular media, particularly in popular urban music and music videos. Aware that these images may be having a negative impact on our children, we realized that, as Black women, it was up to us to take a stand

In 2006 Black Bloggers began blogging and campaigning against rap artists.

Rosie O'Donnell keeps saying 'Why Now?' Her irritation seems to derive from nobody said one word of firing anyone when I was called fat dyke & what not. And, that Imus has degraded many people, but now we get to the Rutgers Team basically comprised of African Americans and he gets axed. That's her Why Now and it's my Why Not?

Joy Behar, God bless her soul has been thinking which her thinking has made her express this thought for the past several days. The reason she believes that the African American community are in such an outrage is 'We are feeling empowered and have greater strength because 'now that Obama is running for president.'

You know if that is truly the very reason she believes this then I strongly suggest that Joy just quit thinking. Just as every African American doesn't support and doesn't like rap music, every white person is not a racist or bigot. Racism is apparent and very much alive in all cultures and communities. There is no race who doesn't have racist members. Yet, if ever you're looking for the worst in anything, believe me it not hard to find it.

Rutgers Meets Imus

Yes, they have agreed to meet with Imus. The coach stated the comments about her team was "racist and sexist remarks that are deplorable, despicable and unconscionable."

These young ladies before you are valedictorians, future doctors, musical prodigies", coach C. Vivian Stringer told a nationally publicized news conference a day after an uproar Imus' comments led to a two-week suspension of his show.

Imus has been making the rounds in defense of himself and being very apologetic. However, with his apologies comes a lot of buts. He's spoken with Matt Lauer of the Today Show and Al Sharpton on Sharp Talk radio. Imus is spending too much time focusing on who else publicly references black women as hos. Be that as it may and I'll give him that, it still makes his comments not right.

I'll go back to the old adage our parents would reference to, "if your friends jumped off a bridge would you?" This reminds me of when Neal Boortz publicly announced on his Nationally Syndicated radio talk show that Rep. Cynthia Mckinney was a "ghetto slut". He was referencing to the hair style which she was sporting.

It never ceases to amaze me that when Caucasians want to attack the African American woman first thing right out the gate is the demeaning insults about our hair. Then it's followed by the way in which we speak, our grammar, our diction and the choice of how we structure words in sentences.

I always know when I've got the upper hand in a debate or conversation, because I've met with those same kind of blows. Basically I just giggle and laugh. You see I had been wondering exactly how long will it take for them to begin insulting me like this. When all else fails this is what people of that caliber will resort to. Anything to take the attention off I'm making more valid points. Why? Because, 'it ain't no fun when the rabbit has the gun'.

And, Imus you've got the gun pointing in your direction this time.

Read more at Rutgers team angry but will meet with Imus.

MSNBC's Imus calls them Nappy Head Hos

Well, we all should know by now that Imus and his executive producer Bernard McGuirk are basically some idiots to put it nicely.

Normally, you can tune in and watch & listen as Bernard makes the foulest jokes and remarks about gay lesbian bisexual and transgender people. Ooh, it just cracks him up. He really is alittle sad man.

But on April 4th their focus was on Rutgers young African American female basketball players. No big deal as far as he was concerned to call them some nappy head hos.

Bernard chimes in and calls them some hard core hos. All the while, they just giggled and laugh. Near the end of their insults they were some jigaboos. I don't know how anybody truly watches him. And, Bernard he really can't bait me nor make me mad. However, it would give me great pleasure, you know fun to bend him over and put a hot poker up his Happy 4th of July.

Hey, I'm just having fun like they always are. These characters have some deeply rooted issues which extend further than racism, gaycism or sexism.

Once again, thanks Feministing for the heads up.
