Let's focus on the not so pretty of the Gay and Lesbian

According to Brian Fitzpatrick, guest columnist of OneNewsNow.com the media is in a gay lesbian bisexual and transgender hoopla of positive images of the community.

However, instead of showing the pride celebrations and the wonders of the same-sex marriage, that has been granted we should talk about this:

Here are a few facts the media ought to be discussing:
  • Despite the greater ability of same-sex partners to understand each others' points of view, same-sex relationships tend to be short-lived. (Diggs, The Health Risks of Gay Sex, p. 9)

  • Homosexual households are also more prone to domestic violence. For example: "The incidence of domestic violence among gay men is nearly double that in the heterosexual population," according to D. Island and P. Letellier in Men Who Beat the Men Who Love Them (New York: Haworth Press, 1991). A study in the Journal of Social Service Research reported that "slightly more than half of the [lesbians surveyed] reported that they had been abused by a female lover/partner." (G. Lie and S. Gentlewarrior, "Intimate Violence in Lesbian Relationships: Discussion of Survey Findings and Practice Implications," No. 15, 1991.)

  • Same-sex "marriage" doesn't just redefine who can be married, it's an attempt to redefine marriage itself. As homosexual writer Michelangelo Signorile put it, "A middle ground might be to fight for same-sex marriage and its benefits and then, once granted, redefine the institution of marriage completely, to demand the right to marry not as a way of adhering to society's moral codes but rather to debunk a myth and radically alter an archaic institution."(OUT magazine, 1994)

  • How will the "archaic institution" be redefined? Pro-homosexual author Judith Levine: "Because American marriage is inextricable from Christianity, it admits participants as Noah let animals onto the ark. But it doesn't have to be that way. In 1972, the National Coalition of Gay Organizations demanded the repeal of all legislative provisions that restrict the sex or number of persons entering into a marriage unit; and the extension of legal benefits to all persons who cohabit regardless of sex or numbers .... Group marriage could comprise any combinations of genders."

  • A new definition of monogamy that excludes fidelity, especially among gay males. In a 1984 study of 156 male couples in relationships lasting 1 to 37 years, researchers McWhirter and Mattison found that only seven couples had maintained sexual fidelity, and none of the exclusive couples had been together for more than five years. (Also, see Diggs, The Health Risks of Gay Sex, p. 8.)

Same-sex "marriage" offers our friends in the press quite a lot to write about, if they'd just take off those party hats." OneNewsNow.com

Poor little thing really has it twisted!

Let's talk about Divorce and the reason for it - granted to heterosexuals who could no longer get along. And, what about Domestic Violence laws and shelters? Uhm why are the laws and shelters in existence - because heterosexuals beat the crap out of the ones they've been known to love. Let's see monogamy - please just give me a break, another one of the adulterous reasons for divorce as a law. And, since we're on the subject - why do we have Adoption an adoption laws - because for whatever reason heterosexual couples and singles chose to not raise their children.

Any of the categories and topics which dear sweet Fitzpatrick wants to focus on he best remember how its origination was formed.

National Longitudinal Lesbian Family Study

(basically Lesbians have been studied and tracked since 1980... and 2 mommies raise happy well adjusted babies -- girls and boys.

A Basic Introduction To Our Studys

The USA National Longitudinal Lesbian Family Study (NLLFS) has been following lesbian mothers and their children, who were conceived by donor insemination (DI) during the lesbian baby boom of the 1980s. Initiated by Nanette Gartrell, MD, the NLLFS examines the social, psychological, and emotional development of the children as well as the dynamics of alternative families and children of LGBT parents. This is the longest-running and largest prospective investigation of lesbian moms and their children in the United States. This study is intended to generate information for specialists in healthcare, family services, sociology, feminist studies, education, ethics, gay marriage, and public policy on matters pertaining to LGBT families.

Being Gay or Lesbian in Uganda is called the "Western Disease"

They believe it can be treated and cured, therefore it really doesn't exist.
President Museveni said about HIV: "We don't have homosexuals in Uganda so this is mainly hetersexual transmission."
They even have "Name and Shame Articles in the newspapers."

In Uganda homosexuality can be punished by a term of imprisonment of between seven years and life. I guess this is what could happen if they decide not to kill you first!

Watch the video story of Prossy Kakooza, she and her girlfriend were hauled off naked to jail for simply loving and being who they are. The word spread through out the facility and the male guards told a lie -- Prossy was boasting and telling stories of her lesbianism. This is what happened:
Over the next four days, Prossy was subjected to horrific sexual and physical violence and abuse. After this her father bribed the guards to release her. He had decided to have her killed as she had brought 'shame' on the family. Prossy managed to escape from the family home and fled to the UK.

LGBT Discrimination is Legal in Ohio

YES! LGBT Discrimination is Legal in OHIO!

It is legal to:
  • Fire someone if they are gay lesbian bisexual or transgender
  • Deny them a place to live if they are gay lesbian bisexual or transgender
  • Force them to leave a restaurant if they are gay lesbian bisexual or transgender
Sometimes the discrimination is overt; other times it subtle.

Here in Ohio, it's legal -- even though more than two-thirds of Ohio voters support passage of legislation that would ban discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity.

TAKE ACTION NOW

Today, a bipartisan group of legislators has introduced a bill to ban this type of LGBT legislation. State Senator Ray Miller and State Representatives Jon Peterson and Dan Stewart are optimistic, that Ohio will become the 21st state to update its laws and make our state a place where everyone feels at home.

Now they need YOUR stories to help make their case. Explain the impact this discrimination has had on you and your family. Your name or contact information will not be released without your permission.

Click Here to tell us how GLBT discrimination has affected you and your family.

Don't have a story? You can still help.
Senator Miller and Reps. Peterson and Steward need to know you back them up in this fight.

Click Here to let us know you stand with the GLBT community and the two-thirds of Ohio Voters who support a ban on GLBT discrimination.

Together, we can make Ohio's laws match Ohioans' value. Please take action today.

(petition executed by ProgressOhio.org)

Please forward to your family friends colleagues & anyone else that you know who would stand in support of those who live in the State of Ohio.

And, I personally thank you from all of us here in this state! -- Miss Vicki

Ohio Lawmaker believes same-sex committed relationships lead to mental and physical illness

Jeff Warner, a Republican representing the 81st district in Ohio, believes that,"same sex committed relationships lead to mental and physical illness." I'm sorry before I can even think about getting mad I must have myself a good laugh. He's an embarrassment to the State of Ohio, period.

As a citizen of Ohio, we must get a gag order to prevent this educated idiot from speaking!

check it...

When a constituent asked about H.B. 502 the "Equal Housing and Employment Act, that would cover LGBTs this is what Wagner said via email --

"[T]his is a dangerous and misguided bill. The bill is not really about people being denied rights to basic needs, but it is about promoting acceptance of an immoral lifestyle. As much as some people would have us to believe otherwise, this country was founded on Christian principles.

One of those long honored principles is the tradition of holy matrimony.

One man and one woman joined together in a union that goes as far back as Adam and Eve. As our society has gotten further from that standard (not just homosexuality, but easy divorce, cheating on a spouse, etc.) we see a continued collapse of the basic building block of society the family unit. As that traditional family erodes, we see more sexually transmitted diseases, kids without parents, heartbroken people and I believe a host of mental and physical illnesses. . . . rest assured I can not support a bill in any way promotes or encourages the homosexual lifestyle."

Here's the response from Twenty-four members of the Ohio House of Representatives, led by Minority Leader Joyce Beatty (pictured) have issued in response to Representative Jeff Wagner’s comments attacking LGBT families and aligning same-sex relationships with mental illness.

In a letter from the lawmakers, they call Wagner’s remarks “inappropriate and unprofessional for the civil dialogue this august body normally upholds,” and go on to say that they “stand united against any type of discriminatory speech.”

“Discrimination against anyone, for any reason,” they write, “is wrong.”

“We strongly disagree with your statements,” the letter concludes.

The lawmakers’ full letter, along with the names of everyone who signed on, is after the jump.

You Might Be Gay but You're Not a Lesbian

Campaigners on the Greek island of Lesbos are to go to court in an attempt to stop a gay rights organisation from using the term "lesbian".
The word lesbian was birthed from the poet Sappho who was a native of Lesbos. Sappho wrote poetry for women expressing her feelings of love. The island people aren't happy that the term lesbian is being used to identify same sex loving women. I've seriously been trying to wrap my head around this one -- but ??

Dimitris Lambrou the leader of this crusade relates that it is causing problems for the inhabitants of Lesbos. Can they or he not see the direct correlation in how this came about? I guess not, they are so embarrassed they've had to rename their island Mytilini.

So they're going to court to reclaim their dignity and to outlaw any further use of the word lesbian, by gay rights organizations. If this case is won their plans will be to fight the word lesbian internationally.

What do you think we should call ourselves if we're banned from using the term 'lesbian'? Anybody got any bright ideas? I've been fighting for the word human being for a long time now. Yet somehow the world just wants to often call me 'You know that lesbian.'
